How inspiring to see a studio portrait of the late Mary McCormic! A native of Amarillo, Mary was a member of the Chicago Opera, a protegee of Mary Garden. My husband's old uncle remembers seeing her in the twilight of her talent on a bill which also featured Frida Lieder, Al Priddy (Can Animals Think?) and the Olga Stevens Marionettes. She died in Texas in 1983. Say some El Paso, others can't remember. Cordial greetings from the glorious Thames Valley! Mrs Pouncer
