So after I popped into Max Factor for some new Pancake, this shop caught my eye, as I'd saved a lot of my Robur coupons and those rugs (?) looked rather appealing.

Driving last Friday in the rain, went through Thorpdale (in a matter of seconds) but decided their pub was worthy of a pic. I like the lettering.

Ballarat Walking Tour

Yesterday we partook of the Inter-war housing walking tour in Ballarat. Here's some nice housies for your enjoyment...I want to move in!

This car happened to drive past...shame about the old Ford in the background!

Here's a charming little gardening book that I found in the East Kew St Vinnie's a few weeks back. From the advertisements inside, I'd say it dates from the late '30's. Can someone come and make my garden look like this please?

Look what I bought for $4.50 at the thrift store yesterday:

The photo is not the greatest, as I had to use the flash, but isn't it divine? Near perfect Art Deco upholstery. Hurrah!

Old shop front

I found these old signs in a row of shops in Clunes, Victoria. It was a boom town during the gold mining era of the 1800's and the town has preserved lots of the historical buildings and old architecture. My favourite is the Art Deco booksellers store front, how I would have loved to pop in there once upon a time for some magazines and stationery!

Creswick Fire Station 1936

I grew up in Creswick, which is a pretty place with lots of lovely old buildings. I don't think I'd call this one "lovely" when compared with the beautiful Gold Rush era architecture that the area is known for, but this building is iconic in my memory. I think it's still the CFA station today.

Here's a gorgeous plate that Anthea is lucky enough to own. I'm torn between this style and the more 50's style of crockery, but I suppose I can love both, right? I think this would be a gorgeous design for embroidery, I might try it on a pillowcase! The coveted plate
